EAST PETERSBURG, Pa. - The National Association of Oil Heating Service Managers (NAOHSM) honored multiple award winners during its 2007 Industry Awards at its annual awards banquet during the association’s Annual Convention & Trade Show.

Nick Domiano, Bucks-Mont Chapter, was awarded Instructor of the Year. He has been an HVAC instructor for many years and is currently teaching at the North Montco Career Technical Center, Lansdale, Pa.

According to NAOHSM, he is an example of the success that can be achieved using NAOHSM’s “Adopt a Tech School” program. He holds a degree in engineering and has a master’s degree from Temple University.

Mark Collins, New Haven and Fairfield County Chapters, received the Associate of the Year Award. He began his career delivering oil for Seymour Oil, Seymour, Conn. He is currently a regional technical representative for Burnham Hydronics Corp.

Buderus was named Manufacturer of the Year.

Ralph Adams, national vice president of NAOHSM, was named Service Manager of the Year. He currently teaches two nights a week at the local community college and serves as a national education co-chair.

According to NAOHSM, he has been instrumental in working with his state association, and with service managers to deliver quality educational programs in the state.

Bob Plante received the Hugh McKee Award. He teaches Oil Burner Technology for the New England Institute of Technology, Warwick, R.I. Plante began his career as a service technician with City Oil Co., Pawtucket, R.I. He has since moved into the wholesale side of the business by taking a position with Plumbers Supply in Fall River, Mass.

John Griffin, Nassau-Suffolk Chapter, received the Lifetime Achievement Award. He began his career delivering oil. He later worked services with Lisi Brothers, Valley Stream, N.Y. Griffin next worked for General Utilities as a field supervisor and then service manager. 

He was often instrumental in training new people and highly involved in the industry. He is a contributing writer to industry magazines and is past chapter president and past national vice president to NAOHSM.
