SAN FRANCISCO - The National Air Filtration Association (NAFA) honored 24 commercial properties with The Clean Air Award at the NAFA Annual Conference held in San Francisco. Clean Air award winners were recognized for excellence and leadership in air filtration. The award program was instituted by NAFA in order to promote and recognize the use of high efficiency filtration products and good maintenance practices.
It is presented for an outstanding effort in maintaining a clean and healthy indoor work environment, while reducing overall operating costs. Judging was based on the number and level of MERV filters used in the facility, number of NAFA-certified technicians on staff, yearly filter service, use of gaskets, use of filter monitoring devices, use of filter change record, system filter upgrade, use of gas phase filtration, and system duct and coil cleaning.
Candidates for the award were nominated by both NAFA members and members of the facility management community. Applicants submitted detailed and specific steps taken towards cleaning the indoor environment. Each recipient received a custom designed trophy and recognition certificate.
