Modine To Close Three Facilities

RACINE, WI — Modine Manufacturing Co. has identified three of the manufacturing facilities that will be closed in accordance with its previous restructuring announcement. On Oct. 17, Modine announced that it would take a $14 million to $18 million restructuring charge, which would include the consolidation of six manufacturing facilities. The facilities to be closed are located in St. Paul, MN; Knoxville, TN; and La Porte, IN.

The St. Paul facility employs approximately 54 people and will be phased out over the next three to six months. The Knoxville facility employs approximately 92 people and will be phased out over the next eight to 10 months. And the La Porte facility, which employs approximately 124 people, will be phased out over the next 12 to 15 months. According to Modine, the company’s restructuring is in response to weakness across many of its markets and continued softening of the U.S. economy.
