The manufacturer's water tube boilers contain electronics that take care of many functions, including measuring run-time and keeping track of all alarms and caution statements. Electronic sensors measure the temperature of the water tube metal, flue gas temperatures, feed water temperatures, and the ambient temperature in the boiler room. They also activate high fire and low fire and monitor steam pressure and pressure settings. The sensors trigger automatic surface blowdowns if they sense conductivity beginning to rise.
