ARLINGTON, Va. - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which recently finalized its revisions to the Energy Star program and implemented third-party certification requirements for Energy Star-qualified products, has named the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) as a recognized Certification Body (CB) for the Energy Star program.

Under the new revisions, which went into effect this year, new products will no longer be submitted to EPA for qualification, but instead must be certified by an EPA-recognized CB before the product can carry the Energy Star logo.

AHRI said that it will work with its certification program participants to meet their needs to qualify new HVACR products and meet EPA’s verification requirements.
