  • Carrier Corporation (Farmington, Conn.) has appointed Halsey Cook as president, North American Residential. Cook will be based at the company’s North American Residential headquarters in Indianapolis.

  • American Standard Companies Inc. (Piscataway, N.J.) appointed David Modi as vice president, government and public affairs.

  • Saftronics Inc. (Ft. Myers, Fla.) has acquired Fincor Electronics (York, Pa.). Fincor will continue to do business as a wholly owned subsidiary of Saftronics and will be known as Fincor Automation Inc.

  • The International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating (AHR) Expo awards program for product innovation has recognized Heatcraft Refrigeration Products LLC (Atlanta) for the Beacon II Refrigeration System.

  • Regal-Beloit Corporation (Beloit, Wis.) has appointed Christopher L. Mapes to the position of president of motors sales and marketing.

  • Emerson Climate Technologies (St. Louis) opened its new distribution center located in Indiana’s Hancock County, east of Indianapolis.

  • Milwaukee Electronics (Milwaukee, Wis.) and its regional manufacturing facilities will now be called MEC. The company says the name change is an effort to unify its national image.

  • American Auto-Matrix (AAM) (Export, Pa.) has been purchased by a group of private U.S. investors. Jordan Acquisition Group LLC, led by AAM’s current CEO Paul Jordan, purchased the company from Vislink plc (Hungerford, England).

  • Rheem Air Conditioning Division (Fort Smith, Ark.) has made new appointments to its marketing communications department. Gary Wehunt is the division marketing programs manager; Bill Alderson is the division marketing publications supervisor; Keith Davenport is the marketing communications supervisor; Frank Fodge is marketing communications program administration manager; and Phyllis Abshere and Angela Rinke have been promoted as marketing program coordinators.

  • Affiliated Distributors (King of Prussia, Pa.) has awarded Spirax Sarco Inc. (Blythewood, S.C.) the 2002 Recognition of Excellence in Marketing Award in the Pipe, Valves and Fittings Division.
