The Airflow Reducer Disk is designed for comfort balancing in residential applications. It is easily adjusted by moving the outer disk to set the desired airflow. The unit is installed by removing the supply grille and installing the damper unit into the existing supply collar. The damper is sized to fit most standard collars. It can be reset into the tie wrap retaining ring in the collar itself or rest on the top or the collar assembly where the flexible ductwork mates with the collar. The design of the damper provides an airflow resistance of ± 5 percent. The unit can reduce noise levels by providing reduced airflow and an air combing or straightening effect for a more uniform air delivery to the supply grille face, the company says.
