Ed Wright, Lennox’s commercial territory manager in Dallas, facilitated the donation. Wright is a 1989 graduate of the ACT program and an ACT advisory committee member.
According to Lennox, Wright learned of how much equipment was available for training and donation, and conferred with ACT’s department chair, Tony Towery. Wright selected 18 package units to donate, but then needed to find a way to get the equip-ment to Waco. Wright approached Jim Kruse, a Lennox dealer and president of Lochridge-Priest.
“When Lennox Industries asked if we wanted to be a part of the donation of Lennox air conditioning units to ACT, I was more than glad to be able to donate the freight cost for delivering the units,” said Kruse.
The 18 commercial packaged units will provide hands-on training for the ACT students.
‘I’m excited about being able to give something back to the school,” said Wright. “The industry needs quality technicians like those coming out of TSTC. So, the contributions Lennox, Lochridge-Priest, and others make are beneficial to the industry as a whole.”
