The Conservator 90™ Series gas-fired water boiler has an AFUE efficiency of 90%. It has a cast aluminum heat exchanger, which transfers heat three times as fast as conventional cast iron, states the manufacturer. Due to the boiler’s low-temperature supply and return water, it can be used for radiant systems without using complex and expensive mixing devices. According to the company, this lightweight boiler is easy to install in a basement, closet, or alcove. The CPVC pipe that is necessary for the first five ft of venting is provided; PVC can be used for the remainder of the venting pipe. This product has received the Energy Star label and the Good Housekeeping Seal.
