Several new webpages and marketing materials translated in Spanish

Thermostat Recycling Corp. (TRC) announced it has launched four pages on its website in the Spanish language. TRC said the webpages, which can all be found at www.thermostat-recycle.org/es, have been developed to enable Spanish-speaking users to learn more about its mercury thermostat recycling program.

Three winning wholesalers will be chosen based on the most mercury recycled, highest recycling average, and most participation (for distributors with more than 10 locations). Additionally, a $500 store incentive will be awarded to the top three branch locations that recycle the most.

Thermostat Recycling Corp. (TRC) announced that its fifth annual Big Man On Planet (BMOP) competition begins May 1, in partnership with Heating, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI). BMOP will run through Oct. 31 and all HARDI wholesaler members are eligible to participate.
Covanta, Locke Supply, and Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality Team-Up for Program

Covanta Tulsa, Locke Supply, and the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) have partnered to provide a convenient way to recycle mercury-containing thermostats in Oklahoma. Residents and contractors will now be able to deliver old thermostats to any Locke Supply location for recycling free of charge.
Mercury Thermostat Bill Establishes New Requirements for the HVAC Industry

A new law in Massachusetts requires any person or contractor who replaces a mercury-containing thermostat to deliver it to an appropriate collection site to be recycled. It also mandates that no HVAC wholesale distributor shall sell or distribute any thermostat unless the wholesaler participates as a collection site to recycle mercury thermostats.
