ARLINGTON, VA — The Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) reports that the Mexican government recently announced its 2002 standardization plan, which lists 362 mandatory and voluntary standards currently in development. The plan includes a mandatory energy efficiency standard for central air conditioners.
Participation in the standards development process is open to all interested parties, including U.S.-based organizations. Participants should expect to conduct business in Spanish.
For more information, contact Julie McCombs, ARI’s director of international standards, at jmccombs@ari.org (e-mail).
