ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - For builders and contractors who want to be more competitive in the residential building and home improvement industries, the ACI New Jersey Home Performance Conference is designed to show them how to boost business with the latest whole-house performance and building science techniques.

The two-day conference on Jan. 24 and 25, 2007, will feature experts in building science and home performance at the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel at Two Miss America Way in Atlantic City. Builders, remodelers, HVAC contractors and installers, home performance contractors, home energy raters, insulation and air sealing contractors, weatherization providers, design professionals, building scientists, code officials, home inspectors, energy efficiency service providers, and utility representatives can register online for the training, trade show, and networking event at www.affordablecomfort.org, or by calling 800-344-4866 ext. 10.

"With the recent launch of Home Performance with Energy Star® throughout New Jersey and the continued success of New Jersey Energy Star Homes, builders and contractors here can't afford to miss this conference," said Jeanne Fox, president of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities. "With Energy Star, New Jersey homes of any style or size can be improved to reduce energy use by up to 30 percent. That's a tremendous long-term value that building professionals can offer their customers."

Attendees can choose from 36 training sessions on the latest in energy efficiency techniques, combustion appliance and carbon monoxide safety, indoor air quality and moisture, diagnostic testing tools and techniques, federal tax credits for new energy efficient homes and home improvements, new technologies in oil, gas, and propane heating, and more. They also will have the opportunity to find the latest technology and products from leading manufacturers and see hands-on product and diagnostic demonstrations during the two-day trade show.

The New Jersey Home Performance Conference is sponsored by New Jersey's Clean Energy Program and the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.
