Jan. 11, 2007: Goodman Upgrades Warranties

HOUSTON - Goodman Manufacturing Co. L.P., a wholly owned subsidiary of Goodman Global Inc., announced that effective immediately, homeowners will be offered a 10-year parts limited warranty on all new Goodman® brand residential furnaces, package units and split-system air conditioners, and heat pumps. Previously, the company has provided a 5-year parts limited warranty on the majority of these products.

“We believe that our new 10-year parts limited warranties will strengthen our value position with homeowners,” said Gary Clark, Goodman senior vice president of marketing. “We led the industry in the move to the current 5-year parts warranty standard, and once again Goodman is setting a precedent by extending that warranty to 10 years.”

Clark explained the reasons behind the change. “Over the past four years, we have reworked the product designs and manufacturing platforms for all of our Goodman residential equipment - furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and package units. The quality gains we have achieved with these new product designs have enabled us to provide this new parts warranty, giving us what we believe to be the best standard warranty offering in the industry.”

This warranty upgrade will complement the lifetime heat exchanger and compressor limited warranties and 10-year unit replacement limited warranties that currently protect many high-efficiency Goodman brand products for as long as the original purchaser owns his or her home. Goodman will provide its 10-year parts limited warranty to homeowners who register qualifying Goodman equipment within 60 days after installation via the company’s online warranty registration system.
