The Tempstar SmartComfort™ 2400 Series split system air conditioners can achieve 15 SEER when matched with appropriate coils and blowers, says the manufacturer. Available in 2 to 5 tons, these air conditioners have Durawhisper™ tops, which are of a noncorrosive, slanted-top design; these tops along with the aerodynamic fan chamber make the condensing units the quietest Tempstar condensing units ever, the company says. Other features include scroll compressors, two-speed fan motors, and prepainted condenser fins that provide additional corrosive resistance, the manufacturer says. The compressors are covered by a limited warranty to the original purchaser for 10 years from the date of installation. All other functional component parts are covered by a five-year parts limited warranty.
