IIAR Proposes Amending Standard

ARLINGTON, Va. — The International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR) has proposed amending the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and IIAR standard ANSI/IIAR 2-1999, “American National Standard for Equipment, Design, and Installation of Ammonia Mechanical Refrigerating Systems.” Following approval by IIAR and the ANSI Board of Standards Review (BSR), the amended standard will be published with a new designation. Until that time, IIAR has designated the proposed Addendum “a” as BSR/IIAR 2-1999a.

IIAR invites those who have an interest in the standard to participate in the public review, and/or the ANSI consensus process for approval, of proposed Addendum “a” for ANSI/IIAR 2-1999. IIAR will utilize the canvass method of ANSI to develop evidence of consensus among affected parties. The 45-day public review period began on April 11. Comments are due no later than May 26, 2003.
