ICC Forms Safe Building Foundation

FALLS CHURCH, VA — The International Code Council (ICC) has established the Building a Safer World Foundation to support its mission to protect lives and properties through safer building construction.

“Today, the United States enjoys the highest standard of building safety in the world as a result of the collective experience shared by the International Code Council (ICC) and its member organizations,” noted Larry Bell, ICC chairman.

The foundation is a nonprofit organization and is operated exclusively for charitable, educational, and other purposes beneficial to social welfare. ICC says that the foundation’s activities will include sponsoring International Building Safety Week, promoting national awareness of building safety through public education, servicing as a resource for building safety information, promoting the utilization of building regulations, and more.
