IAQA, Honeywell Offer IAQ Training

MINNEAPOLIS — In an effort to help contractors, builders, and consumers learn more about indoor air quality (IAQ) and how to create cleaner home air, Honeywell International announced that it will partner with the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA). The two organizations will team up to provide IAQ information and training for companies in the HVAC service and construction industries.

Honeywell recently announced a similar collaboration with the American Lung Association Health House® program, a national effort to raise the standards for cleaner indoor environments through builder and consumer education.

According to Honeywell, the company will work with IAQA to develop and implement several programs for HVAC dealers, including a 12-hour training seminar that will be available later this year. The seminar will be based on the IAQA class “Fundamentals of Indoor Air Quality and HVAC.” Instruction will be provided by an IAQA-certified Master Technician. The agreement also enables Honeywell to present the IAQA four-day Certified Indoor Environmentalist (CIE) course to its customers.

Honeywell and IAQA will also jointly develop IAQ brochures and an educational website to further educate dealers. The partnership will also allow Honeywell dealers a discount on IAQA corporate membership dues.
