According to the National Weather Service, this summer could be a record-breaker, considering that temperatures in some areas already have topped 100°F.

To provide consumers with some cool relief from the sweltering heat, Service Experts (Dallas, TX) is launching its "Hottest Moment of Summer" contest.

Consumers 18 years of age and older can submit their prediction of the date, location (a city, town or location, including state, monitored by the National Weather Service), and temperature that will constitute the hottest moment of the summer in the continental United States between June 21 and Sept. 22, 2000.

The grand prize will include an all-expense-paid vacation, including round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations for two to Reykjavik, Iceland, or the "cool" destination of their choice.

In addition, the winner will receive $2,000 in spending money, a one-year supply of ice cream, installation of a new Elite 13¿ air conditioner and Elite 80M¿ multiposition gas furnace, and a 10-year maintenance agreement.
