Chil-Con coalescing oil separators optimize oil separation from discharge gas in a refrigeration system, removing oil 10 times faster than conventional oil separators, says the company. With these units, system oil charge is decreased because most of the oil returns to the compressor crankcase at a steady rate, according to the company. Oil carryover is reduced to 3 to 10 PPM (pounds of oil per million pounds of refrigerant), which is one-tenth the oil carryover of conventional units, says the manufacturer. Ten models are available in single stage and booster (compound) for reciprocating compressors.
