Heating Bills: Consolidated Edison Co. of New York

Consolidated Edison Co. of New York (Con Edison, New York, NY) announces an agreement with N.Y.S. Public Service Commission (PSC, New York) to take several major steps in order to help hold down the cost of winter heating bills for its one million residential and commercial firm gas customers. Under the agreement, Con Edison says it will reduce the delivery portion of customers’ gas bills between December 2000 and March 2001 by 16% for a total of $90 for a typical residential customer, and by 19% for a total of $265 for a typical commercial customer.
