The Mesurflo® automatic balancing valves are custom-designed to provide a constant flow rate of water in any HVAC system. According to the manufacturer, installation of a balancing valve and accompanying strainer and connector permanently eliminates the need and costs of rebalancing or maintaining multiple manual valves in the system. The valves are factory configured for any flow rate from 0.5 to 7,200 gpm with piping ranges from 0.5 to 20 inches in diameter. Mesurflo valves are designed with a virtually silent rubber-based diaphragm, which presses flexibly against a plastic-resin opening, the company says. The higher the pressure, the tighter the diaphragm presses against the opening, thus controlling the flow rate. As the pressure reduces, the diaphragm backs away from the opening, freeing any trapped particles or impurities, states the manufacturer.
