GM Takes On Fuel Cell Partner
General Motors (Detroit, MI) has formed a strategic partnership with Hydrogenics Corp. (Mississauga, ON, Canada), a PEM fuel cell manufacturer. The two companies have already produced a backup power system that uses an electrolyzer to generate hydrogen when grid power is on. When grid power is lost, the system uses a fuel cell to generate electricity from the hydrogen.
