According to the “1999 National Board Incident Report” released by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors, there was an 8% increase in the total number of incidents in 1999 compared to the year prior, from 2,011 up to 2,163.

ASHRAE

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) has announced a call for members to develop three standards related to methods of testing: SPC 171P, “Method of Test of Seismic Restraint Devices for HVAC&R Equipment”; SPC 173P, “Method of Test to Determine the Performance of Halocarbon Refrigerant Leak Detectors”; and SPC 172P, “Method of Test for Insoluble Materials in Synthetic Lubricants and HFC Refrigerant Systems.”
