According to the manufacturer, the single-metal design means that they resist salt spray better than conventional coils. The 13 SEER microchannel condensing units are 8 inches shorter than their tube-in-fin predecessors, making them lighter to handle and easier to install, claims the company. The 2-ton FS4BD Series model is 24¼ inches tall. Because of the smaller coil mass, the units utilize less refrigerant. Microchannel coils clean up easily, with just a power washer.
