Hardison is survived by his father, sister, aunt, and five brothers. He served as a mentor to many, including industry colleagues at Moldex Barrie and the CIPH.

After entering retirement, Hardison, and wife of 48 years, Anita, relocated to Virgil, where they volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, Niagra-on-the-Lake, Palliative Care, Meals on Wheels, Chateau Gardens, and Grace Gospel Church.
