Ferguson Announces $20.5 Million Expansion

NEWPORT NEWS, VA — At a recent press conference, Ferguson president and chief executive officer, Claude S. (Chip) Hornsby, announced a $20.5 million expansion project adjacent to Ferguson’s current headquarters at the Patrick Henry Commerce Center located here. W.M. Jordan Company, Inc. will begin the construction in November and expects to complete the project by the last quarter of 2002. Rancorn Wildman is the architectural firm for the facility.

According to Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore, the Ferguson expansion will create 400 new jobs at the current corporate office. Presently, more than 800 Ferguson associates, who provide administrative and technical support to nearly 700 locations, operate out of the company’s corporate headquarters and three other Newport News locations.
