EMCOR Subsidiaries Are Extremely Busy
Subsidiaries of EMCOR Group Inc. have been very busy recently. For example, the Marelich Mechanical subsidiary has been awarded a contract to provide mechanical systems for San Quentin’s new Central Health Services Building.
Marelich Mechanical will design, build, and install the plumbing and HVAC systems for the new, approximately 116,100-square-foot, five-story Central Health Services Building at the San Quentin Prison. The project will replace the existing facility while preserving some of its historic elements, including the 1885 hospital façade. The new building will be constructed according to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards established by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
Meanwhile in Baltimore, two more EMCOR Subsidiaries (Poole & Kent Corp. and EMCOR Services Combustioneer Corp.) have teamed up in the Baltimore area in order to add a strong facility maintenance and service component to the robust spectrum of mechanical design and construction services currently offered to their clients.
Combining the individual strengths of these organizations, the new service group will operate out of Poole & Kent’s Baltimore office. Both companies are subsidiaries of EMCOR Group Inc., a Fortune 500® leader in mechanical and electrical construction, energy infrastructure, and facilities services for a diverse range of businesses globally.
Additionally, EMCOR Government Services (EGS) announced that it has received a three-year contract from the United States Air Force to provide operations and maintenance service for the Malcolm Grow Hospital and 21 other medical support buildings at Andrews Air Force Base in Camp Springs, Md.
The subsidiary will provide full-service maintenance on all HVAC equipment, elevators, fire and security systems, and kitchen equipment at the facilities, as well as some grounds maintenance. EGS will also provide preventive maintenance services for emergency generators, the electrical distribution system, medical gas, the building envelope, plumbing, nurse call, and morgue.
Last but not least, EMCOR Group announced that it has been named one of “America’s 400 Best Big Companies” by Forbes magazine. This is the sixth time EMCOR has been included on the annual list, published in the magazine’s Jan. 7, 2008 edition.
