The Green Solution drain pan pump is installed in the drain pan for a refrigeration sys-tem or condensate pan for an air conditioning sys-tem. The line voltage and discharge tube are the two connections to be made prior to turning on the pump, says the company. With a footprint smaller than a dollar bill, this pump contains electronic water-sensing devices that activate the pump only in the presence of water, the manufacturer says; there is no float. Water entry into the pump is from the sensor cell, which is protected from contamination by a large surface-area grille to protect infiltration of particles as small as 0.040 inches, the company states.
