Dow Chemical Reports Increased Demand

MIDLAND, MICH. -The Dow Chemical Co. is reporting demand growth for its Dowfrost™ Heat Transfer Fluid for secondary loop refrigeration applications of approximately 120 percent in 2008. According to the company, demand for 2009 promises to be equally brisk as more large food markets are conserving energy and protecting the environment.

“Supermarkets utilizing secondary loop refrigeration will minimize energy consumption and environmental impact,” said the manufacturer. “More stores are using the secondary loop system for in-store refrigeration, and those stores that have not adopted secondary loop refrigeration are seriously considering it, as revealed in a survey of the industry released by Dow Performance Fluids in January, 2009.”
