Direct Air Systems Named Exclusive Representative for ABB Drives

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Direct Air Systems Inc., which is based in Cleveland and offers commercial building users a complete range of HVAC products and services, has been named the exclusive representative for ABB Drives Commercial HVAC drive products throughout the Columbus, Ohio, market.

ABB supplies a line of energy-efficient electric drives and motors to HVAC and commercial customers through an integrated channel of sales representatives. Products manufactured include AC and DC variable speed drives from fractional to 500 horsepower. HVAC single-motor drive applications include supply and return fans (air handlers), exhaust fans, fume hoods, recirculation pumps, and condenser fans; multiple-motor applications include multi-cell cooling towers, paralleled chilled water, and booster pump systems.

“We are pleased with the opportunity to devote our experiences, supporting products, and services to the promotion of a product line that is held in such high esteem by the HVAC industry,” said Steve Snyder, owner of Direct Air Systems. “We consider this a significant gesture and vote of confidence from such a great company as ABB.”

Supporting Direct Air Systems' HVAC expertise was a natural extension of the company's proven success in serving commercial customers throughout the Cleveland market, noted Todd Wimmer, Eastern Region sales manager for ABB.

“They know how to help building owners and managers put energy to use very efficiently and provide optimal temperature control to building users,” Wimmer said. “As energy availability comes under increasing pressure, this know-how is becoming a critical resource to commercial facilities and the constant budget pressures they operate under.”

In addition to their application experience, Direct Air Systems stocks variable frequency drives at both office locations, and also has an experienced service department and is qualified to offer system start-up, troubleshooting, and warranty repair assistance.
