NATURAL BRIDGE STATION, Va. - Des Champs Technologies, in Natural Bridge Station, Va., and Venmar CES Inc., in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, have resolved a patent dispute existing between the parties. Des Champs owns the U.S. Patent No. 5,179,998, "Heat Recovery Ventilating Dehumidifier."

In 1993, Des Champs was granted the patent for the device which utilizes air-to-air heat exchangers to recover energy from exhaust air and to precool the warm, humid outdoor air, cool it, and dehumidify it in a cooling coil, and then reheat it to a neutral temperature dry condition. This product has come to be known as the Des Champs Wringer Plus.

Venmar CES has agreed that the patent covering the Des Champs Wringer Plus technology is valid.

The parties have agreed that, for the duration of the patent, Venmar CES will pay a royalty to Des Champs Technologies for all its products incorporating the Des Champs technology that are sold in the United States.
