Dec. 15, 2004: NEBB Retro-Commissioning Seminar Scheduled

GAITHERSBURG, Md. - Based on the success of the pilot seminar offered in July 2004, a National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) Retro-Commissioning Seminar is scheduled for Feb. 10-12, 2005, in Orlando, Fla. This seminar is open to all individuals who are interested in learning the process for identifying, correcting, and commissioning existing building systems.

According to NEBB, retro-commissioning is the process of discovering and correcting problems in existing, under-performing building systems. Benefits of retro-commissioning include improved indoor environment and comfort, increased energy performance for buildings, increased occupant satisfaction, and improved system maintenance and upkeep.

The seminar is designed to provide the basic tools to: market and sell retro-commissioning; learn how to perform problem discovery; learn how to create corrective solutions; learn how to evaluate various methods to perform corrective solutions; perform a control system verification; learn how to perform commissioning of the corrective work; and ensure customer satisfaction by training operators for correct O&M procedures.
