WASHINGTON - The Alliance to Save Energy announced Danfoss as one of the winners of its 2010 “Star of Energy Efficiency” awards. The following organizations were also recognized: U-Haul International Inc., the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, Opower, Environment Canada, and Efficiency New Brunswick. In addition, Rick Fedrizzi, president, CEO, and founding chair of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), received the Charles H. Percy Award for Public Service.

“The Alliance to Save Energy is proud to honor these take-action energy efficiency leaders,” said president Kateri Callahan. “As demand for energy continues to swell, we must recognize the efforts of those working to advance energy efficiency to create a cleaner energy future for us all.”

The recipients will be honored at the alliance’s 18th annual awards dinner on Sept. 14 at the Donald W. Reynolds Center in Washington, D.C. Members of Congress, administration officials, business and public sector leaders and others will attend the black-tie event.

Danfoss will be presented with the Innovative Star of Energy Efficiency award in recognition of its products designed to advance energy efficiency, including the patented Ecoflow valve, performance VSD compressor, and ERC102 control.

Robert Wilkins, Danfoss North America president, said, “The innovative award is a validation of Danfoss EnVisioneeringSM principles - a commitment to investing in research and development to continually deliver products and solutions that dramatically increase energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.”
