Conference Offers Classes

ATLANTA - With nearly 100 educational sessions, the technical program at the Annual Conference of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) will provide an environment for developing new skills and contacts.

“Why attend the ASHRAE Annual Meeting in Louisville? Professional preservation is the purely selfish reason to attend,” said Kirk Mescher, chair of the society’s Conferences and Expositions Committee. “When working in HVACR, you need to be well educated on upcoming changes and new codes and standards, all of which are covered in the technical program.

The technical program, which will focus on IAQ, will take place June 21-24 in Louisville. Session topics will range from staying current on design practices to commissioning and good business practices.

A large building systems track will kick off with an introduction to large buildings and go on to address sustainable design, energy modeling, smoke control, and specifically indoor sports facilities, entertainment venues, museums, and libraries. Other tracks will include systems and equipment, IAQ, energy, and sustainability.

The program will include 60 seminars, 15 forums, more than 90 papers, and a technical plenary on Sunday that outlines the potential need for cities and buildings to adapt to climate change.
