Comfort-Aire by Heat Controller Inc.: Hydronic Air Handler

The AHBV Series of hydronic air handlers utilizes a variable-speed blower motor. It further improves efficiency by adjusting the cfm to match the static pressure of the system, helping to overcome poor duct design and long duct runs. According to the manufacturer, this improved air distribution throughout the static pressure range results in a constant low-speed fan operation, which saves energy and reduces temperature stratification. The blower construction eliminates noise transmitted through the shaft, while the blower slowly ramps up to reduce any start-up sound for quiet operation. The variable-speed blower, because of its constant operation, pulls more humidity out of the air than single-speed blowers for improved comfort levels, claims the company. It’s a/c ready for systems sized 1-1/2 to 5 tons. The features of the series include freeze protection in both heating and cooling, slide-out blower assembly, line voltage terminal block, low-voltage terminal strip, and 3/4-inch sweat water connections.
