DENVER, CO — Helping to educate the leaders of tomorrow, the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) College of Fellows awarded a $1,200 scholarship for the 2002-2003 academic year to Sarah Keating, who resides in nearby Littleton, CO.

Sarah is the daughter of Tom and Janis Keating of Denver, CO. Tom is the executive director of SMACNA of Colorado, a chapter affiliated with the national organization.

Graduated from Chatfield Senior High School, Sarah Keating is scheduled to study marketing and public relations at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Among her honors, Sarah was named “Marketing Student of the Year.” An active participant in DECA, an association of marketing students, she recently drafted an international business plan that will appear in future DECA handbooks. Considered an active student athlete and leader, she was named to the high school’s honor roll throughout all four years of high school.

SMACNA College of Fellows Scholarships are open to freshman and/or undergraduate college students whose parents are employed by SMACNA members. Criteria for selection include academic goals, academic achievement, and involvement in extracurricular and community activities.

To find out more about scholarship possibilities, contact communications manager Danielle Dobiesz at 703-995-4036; ddobiesz@smacna.org (e-mail).
