Course Title: Competition in the Residential Market

Course Description: The course is designed to educate participants on the fuel choices in the HVAC market. Topics covered include space conditioning and water heating equipment options and operational characteristics, owning and operating cost estimation methods, and appliances. Testing opportunities for Certificate Member and Certificate Member Specialist (RSES members only) and the North American Technician Excellence (NATE) series of exams will be held following the seminar. Course Title: Carbon Monoxide Safety Training Seminar

Sponsoring Organization: Carbon Monoxide Safety Association

Date: July 15, 2008

Location: Colorado Springs, Colo.

Course Description: The seminar looks at carbon monoxide (CO) properties and how it is produced, measured, and disseminated, and the health effects of short-term and long-term exposures. Basic testing procedures, overview of combustion analysis, use of test instruments, and a primer on how building and duct pressures affect the production and distribution of CO are also reviewed. This class will present basic manufacturer test requirements for proper installation and service verification and procedures to check the cleanliness and the integrity of the combustion gases. www.cosafety.org
