CIPHEX Roadshow Brings Crowds To Vancouver

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - More than 350 of Vancouver's plumbing and heating representatives attended the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating's (CIPH's) newest concept event - CIPHEX Roadshow 2005, a six-hour event with exhibits and workshops that was held in Vancouver on Nov. 9, 2005.

"CIPHEX Roadshow is the best possible example of a niche trade show the industry was looking for," said Mona Winters (Source West), president of CIPH British Columbia Region. "Exhibitors were provided with an excellent cost-effective way to deliver their message to contractors and wholesalers. Visitors gained access to the most current products, innovations, trends, and technical information in a casual environment. This event is an unquestionably successful format for the industry."

"It was fantastic! CIPHEX Roadshow proves that smaller, more intimate shows can work," said Ed Chubb, sales manager Western Canada of Crane Plumbing

"[It was an] excellent format for a tradeshow," added Bruce Macgowan, president of IBC Technologies Inc. "I would be pleased if this formula was rolled out throughout Western Canada."

From plumbing, hydronic heating (hot water), HVACR equipment, electrical equipment, water treatment systems, and tools, to kitchen and bath fixtures, the CIPHEX Roadshow displayed a number of products. Visitors discussed solutions to their sales, specification, design, and installation challenges with 62 exhibitors that represented 95 companies.

There was standing room only for an open panel discussion on hydronics with guest speakers Mark Evans of Danfoss, Leo Vaillancourt of Watts Industries, and Bill Johnston of BCIT. Business speaker Ron Coleman had a workshop targeting individual contractors on developing strategies to build their business.
