The Protector is designed to preserve acoustical ceilings from problems such as dirty or wet tiles and rusty grids. The molded part of the unit installs around airflow grilles and diffusers. Made from Durastar polymer DS2010, the unit is designed to protect acoustical tiles in two ways. According to the company, it provides a physical barrier to condensation above the tile, while below the ceiling, it redirects airflow to provide an air dam between the ceiling and contaminants from dirty filters and other sources, thereby sweeping dirt and dust away before it can adhere to the ceiling tiles.
