SYRACUSE, NY — Carrier Corp. has announced the appointment of Donald Cawley as president, Carrier Enterprises. He replaces George Saunders who retired late last year.

Carrier Enterprises was formed in 1998 to integrate the operations of the North American distributorships owned by Carrier. These companies operate in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southwestern states, as well as Florida and Canada. Combined sales are expected to be in excess of $1 billion in 2000.

Cawley had served as deputy general counsel for Carrier since 1994. In this capacity, he was heavily involved in new business development. In particular, Cawley was the leader of the team that analyzed and developed the structure for Carrier Enterprises.

He has also played a role in some major acquisitions, including International Comfort Products and Tyler Refrigeration.

Prior to joining Carrier’s parent company, United Technologies, in 1993, Cawley was a partner and a member of the management committee of Shipman & Goodwin, a Connecticut law firm.
