Carrier Launches New Sales and Distribution Network

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. - Carrier Sales and Distribution (CSD) launched its newest network in Southern California offering a full line of Carrier, Bryant, Payne, and Totaline products for residential and commercial HVACR. This move represents a major expansion of Carrier’s company-operated network, which, according to the company, is the largest distributor in North America with approximately 200 locations in more than 20 states and Canada.

CSD has secured 23 facilities, nine of which were fully operational for the network’s Sept. 24 opening, including Totaline stores in Anaheim, Santa Fe Springs, Lake Forest, Riverside, San Diego, Escondido, and Oxnard. Two network hubs, located in the greater Los Angeles area and San Diego, have a combined warehouse capacity of 300,000 square feet.

These locations, along with three mini-hubs, will provide full territory coverage as additional Totaline stores open in Chatsworth, Irvine, Murrieta, San Bernardino, Hesperia, Palmdale, City of Industry, Ontario, Burbank, Bakersfield, Newbury Park, and Paso Robles. More locations are planned for 2008 with the network planning to cover more than 1 million square feet total.

“We understand the tough traffic in Southern California so we geographically dispersed our facilities to provide the most efficient delivery system to our customers,” said Liz Haggerty, vice president and general manager of the Southern California operation. “We talked with our customers, listened to their suggestions, and developed a streamlined network to deliver enhanced service.”

Carrier’s Southern California network has 250 employees and the company expects to hire 50 more in the next couple of months.

“Customers in Southern California will see a number of benefits through our ongoing and significant investments in this market, particularly in the areas of premier service, support, advertising, and training,” said David Meyers, president of CSD. “Our brands enjoy industry-leading awareness in Southern California. We are here to ensure not only the long-term strength of our brands, but to better serve our customers as true partners.
