HUNTINGTON, Ind. - UT Electronic Controls (UTEC), a unit of Carrier Corp., has donated more than $300,000 in cash and equipment to the Huntington County Habitat for Humanity. Celebrating its 10th home sponsorship and its 10th year of supporting this organization, UTEC presented a $55,000 check to sponsor the construction of an entire house in Huntington. The new home is the Habitat affiliate’s first Energy Star-certified home, designed to meet ecologically sound building standards through the use of recycled materials, renewable resources, and energy efficiency.

“UT Electronic Controls’ support reaches further than just affordable housing,” said Steve Miller, executive director of Huntington County Habitat for Humanity. “It has enabled programs that otherwise would not be possible.”

Carrier Corp. also participated in the NBC “Today Show’s” Lend a Hand program. Its Residential and Light Commercial Systems North America business unit presented a Carrier automatic standby generator to the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic. The Oklahoma City Indian Clinic has served Native Americans in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area for more than 30 years by providing medical, dental, optometry, pharmaceutical, and community services.
