Larry Beam
McLEAN, Va. - Girard Engineering PC, a mechanical-electrical consulting engineering firm, has promoted Larry Beam, P.E., to president. Beam succeeds Richard A. Girard, P.E., who founded the firm in 1978. Girard will continue to serve as chairman of the board.

Beam has been with the company more than 23 years. Most recently he was a principal with the firm.

He has designed electrical power distribution and life safety systems, and managed overall building mechanical-electrical design for several of the Washington, D.C., area's landmark commercial and government buildings, the company said. Projects include corporate headquarters for Fortune 500 companies, major downtown mixed-use developments, law firm offices, trade association headquarters, educational facilities, and local government complexes.

"Larry Beam has been instrumental in the growth and success of Girard Engineering for more than two decades," said Girard. "Our employees and clients will be able to rely on him to lead this firm with all the integrity that they have come to expect over the years."
