Avtech Software Inc.: Wireless Sensor Monitor

The Room Alert 26WO is a hardware/software solution for easy remote monitoring of the critical environment conditions in the computer room, data center, rack cabinet, or other facility.  The monitor features automatic server shutdown capabilities to eliminate risk by shutting down the most expensive and critical hardware when the temperature rises too high. Temperatures can be monitored in real time from -67° to 257°F (-55° to 125°C), with an accuracy of ± 0.5°C. The monitor has built-in sensors for temperature, humidity, power, and flood, and includes a built-in UPS to get alerts out when a catastrophic power failure occurs. It allows connection of digital and switch-based sensors through 26 built-in sensor ports and contact sets. The Room Alert 26WO is a rack mount unit that fits into a standard rack cabinet. It includes mounting screws and has wings that turn to allow easy wall, undercabinet, or tabletop mounting. The monitor has six standard RJ-11 ports on the front of the unit for connection of the company’s digital temperature/humidity, digital temperature and/or digital power sensors. On the back of the monitor, there are 16 switch sensor channels for connection of external sensors like power, flood, smoke, motion, air flow, room entry, sound, light, panic buttons, etc. Users can also connect to nonvoltage (dry) contacts on other devices like air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, alarm systems, generators, pumps, etc. According to the manufacturer, no PC is required.
