Revit® 7 is the latest version of this building design and documentation software. According to the company, architects and other building industry professionals can use the software to create, manage, and share designs and incorporate state-of-the-art building information modeling into their practices. It is based on parametric modeling technology. This version of the software includes Building Maker, which takes the description of any building form and maps it to real-world elements, and tools to streamline core drawing tasks, the company states. A user can import Revit-produced 3-D DWG files created in AutoCAD software into the company's VIZ 2005, complete with Revit materials or VIZ materials, to create stunning photorealistic interior and exterior renderings, the company states.
