NEWPORT NEWS - Charles Short, an apprentice at the Northrop Grumman Newport News shipyard, was electrocuted last week while he was performing work on an air conditioning system.
The 23-year-old Short, who was married with a 2-year-old son, was a member of the shipyard's HVAC apprentice program.
An investigation is underway by the area Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) office. Details regarding the accident have not been disclosed. A spokesperson for the shipyard said that it is cooperating in the OSHA investigation.
