Elf Atochem North America is now ATOFINA Chemicals, Inc.; and Fina Oil & Chemical Company is now ATOFINA Petrochemicals, Inc. The name changes, which became official June 19, are the results of the February merger of TotalFina and Elf Aquitaine.

ATOFINA Chemicals, Inc., which employs 4,000 people, will keep its headquarters in Philadelphia, while ATOFINA Petrochemicals, which employs 2,000 people, will move its headquarters from Dallas to Houston, TX.
