ATLANTA – The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) has announced the recipients of 21 scholarships totaling $86,000 for the 2007-08 academic year. The students are all pursuing courses leading to a career within the HVACR industry.

Luke Domermuth received the Reuben Trane Scholarship. He was awarded $10,000 over two years, to attend North Carolina State University for mechanical engineering.

Ashley August was awarded the Willis H. Carrier Scholarship and will receive $10,000 for one year to attend North Carolina A&T State University for architectural engineering. David Yarbrough, received the same scholarship and will attend the University of Arkansas for systems engineering.

Eleven one-year $3,000 scholarships were also given. Brandon Boor received the Henry Adams Scholarship. Clinton Canaday received the ASHRAE Region IV Benny Bootle Scholarship. Robert Shirey received the Frank M. Coda Memorial Scholarship. Tanushree Thote received the Duane Hanson Scholarship. Lisa Kallemeyn received the Alwin B. Newton Scholarship.

Hannah Barger received the Donald E. Nichols Scholarship. Julius Morehead received the ASHRAE Region VIII Scholarship. Brian Coulter received the Memorial Scholarship. Timothy Cross and Michael Lowe received the Associate of Engineering Technology Scholarship. Michael Kalin received the Bachelor’s Engineering Technology Scholarship.

The following recipients were awarded the ASHRAE Scholarship: Karen Bratsch, Justin Hill, Blaine Hust, David Mutala, Shou-Chin Tang, Eric White, and Brittany Wingfield.
