The LapSeal™ closed-cell elastomeric foam pipe insulation has a patent-pending dual closure system. In addition to a moisture seal, the tubing has a reinforced elastic foam lap seal. This dual system provides a reliable, long-term seal that resists buckling and opening, even when installed over tight turns such as elbows and P-traps. The pre-slit tubes can be used for new or existing piping applications. According to the manufacturer, the advanced pressure-sensitive adhesive on the seal provides extra assurance that the insulation stays sealed and maintains its integrity. The pipe insulation has superior resistance to moisture vapor, making it an excellent choice wherever condensation is a concern, such as refrigeration or chilled water piping, says the company.
