PHOENIX — In support of American troops overseas, the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) of Arizona recently compiled care packages to send to soldiers in Iraq and Kuwait.

Care packages included necessities such as travel-size bottles of mouthwash, toothpaste, tissues and hand sanitizer, as well as more hard-to-find “state-side” items, such as magazines, candy, beef jerky, nuts, and powder Gatorade.

“SMACNA of Arizona wanted to do its part to support our troops,” said Carol Goguen, executive director. “By getting these care packages out right away, hopefully our troops will get a sense that we are behind them 100 percent.”
